The beach and martello Towers
Over five miles of open beach to explore!
Pevensey Bay beach stretches for about 8.5 km (around 5 miles) along the Sussex coast, running roughly from Sovereign Harbour in Eastbourne to Normans Bay and towards Bexhill.
For visitors, this means there’s plenty of space for family beach walks, paddling and exploring the historic Martello Towers along the shoreline. A great spot for a relaxed family day by the sea, with a wide shingle beach perfect for paddling, beach games, fishing and long coastal walks. Children love exploring the shoreline while enjoying the open views across the English Channel. Along the beach, you’ll also see the historic Martello Towers — round brick forts built over 200 years ago to defend the coast from Napoleon. These striking landmarks add a sense of adventure and history.
